This holiday season I have noticed a lot of sequins and on everything. They are on shorts, wristlets, tank tops, all over dresses, shoes, scarves, hats, and even gloves. This is a sure way to dazzle up an outfit. =] I love the fact that you can get it all over a dress. You are sure to be the talk of the night with a sequins dress that literally makes you the center of attention. The sparkles I think bring out your complexion and make you glow. I recommend black leather legging with a long black sequins tank top finished off with a navy blue blazer and a pair of fabulous sequin pumps with silver sparkly earrings and a silver sequins wristlet.

Lace me!

Lace has become a big part of my wardrobe from shirts to bracelets and necklaces to head bands and to of course the unmentionables. Haha =] Lace is a fine open fabric, typically one of cotton or silk, made by looping, twisting, or knitting thread in patterns. These patterns come in all sorts and are all in their own way beautiful. The pure beauty of lace is flirty, sexy, and fun. This accessory is fun on the sleves of shirts as the tops of shirts, accents on an under shirt, on bracelets, necklaces, rings. It is a must have in every girls closet. It can be worn in all different colors. I wear it in black and white because I think it is more girly for me but if you want to be sexy I suggest red or pink lace.

So be sure when you are going out on a date night to include this wonderful fabric to make that night a little more fun and flirty for your man. Lol =]

Magic Mouse. =]

Apple has done it again and impressed me once more. Magic mouse is the first multi-touch mouse, and it is included with every new iMac and can be bought separately for $69. Inside the magic mouse the apple team put a chip that can tell what you want to do. It knows when you want to scroll or swipe and it won’t confuse the two. It can even tell when you are just resting your hand on it. Magic Mouse connect wirelessly, by using Bluetooth technology. It can click any where on the surface of the mouse, it also now has a right click. When scrolling it actually captures the rate of your scroll and can also scroll a full 360 degrees to move within a document or a photo. It can also tell when you use one or two fingers, scroll with two fingers left and right to browse your music in iTunes or your pictures in iPhoto. How they do this amazing stuff I do not know. You can also zoom in on your desktop by pressing control and swiping your finger up on the magic mouse. This and many more options of the multi-touch magic mouse has innovated the work place and even your at-home experience.

HOUNDSTOOTH, BUCKLES, and MENSWEAR!

Fall styles come in many different colors and prints, Maroon, Dark Green, Floral, and Black. There are also many ways to accent these colors up as with Houndstooth, buckles, and menswear!

My favorite is the houndstooth. Houndstooth shirts, houndstooth coats, houndstooth leggings, houndstooth purses, houndstooth fabric for pillows couches, and even houndstooth furniture!!!!! It’s everywhere and it’s wonderful! I think houndstooth is very stylish for the fall season and should be in your closet. =]

Another fall trend would be buckles. Buckles on shoes seem to be becoming the new and upcoming style I see. The shoes are like military heeled boots with buckles. JEALOUS is what I’m thinking when I see these shoes. I would like to have a pair so bad but I haven’t found one in my price range. =]

And last but definitely not the lease is MENSWEAR! I love the new blazer trend and I think it looks so chic on girls. The blazer with rolled up cuff links and a nice pair of girly heels will be a show stopper. Another menswear style is the ankle booty called the oxford shoe! So adorable and you will have ladies double looking.

It’s a will that is good!

Yes, goodwill! I said it, I shop at goodwill! I love goodwill and the great prices found there. Sweaters for $3.99, belts for $.099, shoes for $3.99, blazers for $6.99! Picture frames, decorations, furniture, albums, toys, backpacks, and purses!!!! Everything!!! I actually just went last night with my new friends and tried to explain that what you wear shouldn’t have to reflect around what people think of you. You need to buy things for you not for the pleasure of someone else. I told them to ask two simple questions when holding that unique piece of clothing in your hands. #1. Will I get made fun of for this? and #2. Do I really give a fuck what other people think of my clothing? As long as the purchase makes me happy then that is what matters the most. I got 4 sweaters, 2 mugs, and a pair of reading glasses for $22.50. If you go to Charlotte Russe or Forever 21, the price of one sweater will account my total, if not more, at goodwill! It doesn’t matter what the price tag says on the clothing, what matters is how you present yourself in it! I hold my head up high in my goodwill purchases and am damn happy about them!!!!

So there is this store called T.J. Maxx, it sells designer clothes shoes, purses, furniture, bedding and jewelry for a cheaper price. If you can imagine wanting something, go to the Maxx, trust me it will be cheaper!!!!!! =] I recently purchased rain boots there for $15.99, originally these boots would cost up to $39.99…..a big difference in price tags to me, a poor college student. Haha. That means after you find that great of a deal you have $24.00 extra dollars to spend on another great deal. I have also recently found a juicy couture purse and put it on my Christmas list for my mom. Originally, this purse costs $185.00, but no at T.J. Maxx this purse will cost $80.00, I love designer clothes, shoes, and purses but don’t have the money for everything, so I search for great deals and I tend to find them. I’m a bargain shopper and will remain one my whole life. I love the feeling of having new clothes but would not be able to afford these things if it weren’t for great stores like T.J. Maxx or Marshalls, which is the same as the Maxx! =D And if you are a shoe lover, then the Maxx needs to be hit up I just got Chinese Laundry heels for $39.99, originally $79.99, they honestly are the most comfortable heels in the whole world!!!!!!!!!

It’s all about those legs.

The new fashion statement that has seemed to rapidly jump is the leggings fad. Leggings aren’t jeans and are not pants, they are thin and stretchy, but we’ll take whatever we can get as long as it’s fashion friendly. These leggings come in many of styles, leggings made to look like jeans, sheer leggings, leggings with patterns, leggings with pockets. It’s all the rage to at least have one pair of leggings. Now your saying well what do I wear with these oh so awesome leggings? I like to pair mine with a dress and booties. Another way to wear is with an oversized shirt or sweatshirt making it more laid back and comfortable giving it a seventies kind of vibe. I love seeing girls wear it with cute tops and heels. I personally think heels make every girl look more pose, unless they can’t seem to walk in them. =]

A good store to buy these leggings at would be Forever21.com or Forever 21 stores. They have all kinds of styles, printed, leather, you name it and they have it. They also have the cutest shoes and shirts that would compliment these very nice.

Dressed to The Hills

This Tuesday night MTV’s The Hills returned to MTV for a new season. To me this means new drama, beautiful girls, good-looking guys, and tons of tons of fashion. Lauren Conrad who is no longer on the show is the epitome of style, pose, and fashion. Since she won’t be there anymore we will have to rely on Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, and Audrina Partridge to take over the fashionista’s spot. With their unlimited bank accounts and pure beauty I don’t think this will be very hard to keep up.

On the Premier, Kristin was shown with white shorts and a baby pink silk blouse with a gold chain necklace, this outfit made me think of classic and sweat Kristin, little did I know her inner bitch was roaring to get out. She also was shown in ripped jeans with a leather motorcycle jacket, just enough edge to get the guy she wanted. Lo Bosworth was shown in a contemporary style of jeans and a classic oversized tan sweater and her oh so famous oversized sunglasses. Lo is the perfect example of all around style that can be worn anywhere. Audrina rounds up the fashion style with a strapless yellow tight fitting dress, and heels to die for.

Over all this show is all about the drama and what they wear. I love to watch to get new ideas and share some ideas with other people like you. =]

Returning Styles?

Remember those headbands worn straight around the head with long wavy hair? Or the floral printed shirts that you couldn’t stop seeing in the seventies. Well guess what? The Style is back. Girls pull out your mom’s old clothes and dig through. You are sure to find something that has come back into style!

My mom had leg warmers, headbands, bright leggings and floral scarves, jellies and anything I could imagine. I stormed through her old boxes and found myself wearing these vintage styles in 2009. I couldn’t believe that my mom had worn these when she was my age and they were back in style. The technology of today is still advancing, but our styles are going back in time. If you ask me I’m excited. I love the vintage style and anything that is different from everyone else. =]

Another returning style that would have to be my favorite would be the oversized sweater. I absolutely love the style and comfort ability of the sweater. Sweaters are cute and comfy and dress up any style. I found that at TJ Max I can find nice sweaters for an affordable price. American Eagle Sweaters run just $14.99 a sweater, with this price you can’t go wrong.

Robert Pattinson made People’s Best Dressed 2009 with his daring style and oh so different pieces. Maybe the fact that he is extra sulty (yummy looking) helped his rating go waaaaay up there!

His style ranges from tailored tuxes and shiny shoes to blazers and dingy beat up shoes. His style is one that keeps me interested and not only in his face or body. I’d have to say his favorite pieces to wear would be blazers and lots of them. Royal blue, red, navy blue, black blazers and do they look so delicious on him. He usually pairs it with a button up shirt or a tie, but sometimes he leaves the tie off and opens the buttons for a little chest showing. He knows what the ladies like and it looks oh so good. =]=]

I have a gut feeling that People only named him best dressed to sell more magazines since he is a heart throb to teens and more. He does dress nice when he has to but is his style the best off the red carpet or awards shows? I think he is a sexy hunk of a man and dresses nice, but he may not be the best dressed man in Hollywood. I know that I would buy the magazine if it had tons of pictures of him because he is a very big deal right now and extra sexy!

Kate Winslet is best dressed for showing off her curves. She wears fitted gowns and blows away the competition on the red carpet. Michelle Obama makes the best-dressed list for most accessible glamour. She has an uncanny knack for wearing sleeveless dresses and ranges her style from wearing anything J. Crew to Gap and Michael Kors. Nichole Ritchie makes the list for best maternity style not even missing a beat when a baby is on the way is really impressive. She wears sparkly tunic and even pieces from her line " a pea in the pod", a maternity clothing line. Reese Witherspoon makes the list for best short dresses. Who wouldn't show off legs like that with a classic mini dress so chic and fashionable? Cameron Diaz makes the list with best jeans. She takes her jeans from classy to chic with dressy tops and sexy heels and pumps. Kim Kardashian who receives best bikinis has a knack for showing off her perfect body in sexy two pieces any girl would want to look like that in. Her curves are what make it the best bikini body out there. Taylor Swift is sure to make the list for best sparkle with her sparkling dresses fit for a princess and glittery earrings to make her dress stand out even more. Dead men don’t wear plaid! ; ]

I was walking through campus and I noticed something passing me by about every few minutes on both guys and girls. THE PLAID AND BUFFALO CHECKER! It is a style that has come through and we cannot deny it. It is super cute and very fashionable. You can dress it up with tons of jewelry and heels or dress it down with a band t-shirt under and some converse chucks. I think I own about 4 plaids/checkers. Even a skirt I have is buffalo checker. I tend to find them cheaper at TJ Maxx then at a Pac Sun. WAYYYYY CHEAPER! I also found for the girls a pair of checker flats online at forever21.com for $9.99!!!! =]=]=] Every girls dream. Shoes for cheap. I also think that pairing a checker with skinny jeans and a leather jacket with black-heeled booties would be really really cute. I kinda want to wear that now. Shopping trip with my credit card. NO I shouldn’t but I may. Lol.

WOAH KANYE! NOT NICE!

As we all know the VMA’s were on Sunday night and there was fashion everywhere. From Taylor Swifts elongated sparkly dress to Kanye’s Jeans and Button up black leather shirt and bottle of Henney. Speaking of Taylor Swift and Kanye, when Taylor won best female video, Kanye went on stage took the microphone away from her and basically said you shouldn’t of won. He said “ I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best video’s of all time!” From then on when Kanye was even mentioned there was a crowd of mixed emotions with boo’s and cheers. I know this has nothing to do with fashion but I just had to put this on my blog. It was totally wrong and stupid for his career to do this to her. She may not really have the best songs and videos out there but she got what she deserved and no one should take that amazing feeling away from her.

Okay back to fashion, Lady Gage wore feathers, masque, a hat, a corset, and pink hair; her style to me is definitely different and not classy at all. Beyonce wore a red mini dress with a low cut v; needless to say she looked gorgeous and is the epitome of VMA style. Taylor’s dress was simply fir for a princess; she looked gorgeous with her red lips and sparkly earrings. =] Lauren Conrad of The Hills wore a short mini dress crème with black stripes that flattered her figure very nicely, her hair tasseled back into a beautiful pinned curly bun. Tyson Ritter of the All American Rejects wore a pink suit with black suspenders and black dress shoes. He looked very styled for a guy. That’s the fashion recap of this very eventful night.

GOOD GOLLY BOOTS!

We all have them or we all want them! BOOTS! Boots are literally a must have for the fall season and they are cute and very interchangeable!!!!!!!! Whether they are black, brown, grey, tan, red, short heeled, high heeled, or flat it is a fashion don’t if you do not have a pair of boots. They complete a simple outfit by just putting it over the top with cuteness. =]

A couple of ideas to what you could pare your boots with could be skinny jeans with a drapey top and drapey jacket and a thick scarf, or tights with leg warmers, a chiffon dress and a cropped motorcycle jacket. Any of these looks would make people take a second look at you. I have a pair of grey boots that I purchased at Charlotte Russe for thirty dollars, but what is awesome was they had a sale going and still do that if you buy a pair of shoes and get another pair the second pair will be only ten dollars!!!! Awesome right???? =] Not only to mention that these boots will still be in style next fall season. Boots are timeless and classic.

So do yourself and me a favor go out and get some boots for the fall season and the fall seasons to come. Trust me you will be so happy with your purchase.

P.s. what you see pictured is a pair of brown BC boots. I thought they were adorable with the buttons and all the detail.

Fashionista. =]

We all read the U.S. magazines but my favorite is the U.S. Fashion issue. I’ve come to notice that in the Fashion magazines there always seems to be one person in there over and over again. RIHANNA! She is stunning, gorgeous, talented, and most important stylish. =]

A few simple keys on how she keeps her fashion exciting, different, and keeping everyone wanting to know her secrets. First, she is not afraid to be daring and to do things that are different. She doesn’t care what other people think of her and that’s what matters the most. Second, she is herself and she is no one else. She strives to be her own person unlike trying to be someone else, to me that is the most important thing to do. To feel what you want to feel and to do and want to do is the best because it boosts your self-esteem and makes everyone else look like they’re in the shadow. Third, she has an unbelievable stylist. Lol. =] Ha-ha, I’m just kidding. She may have a great stylist but it doesn’t mean she sits on the couch while they go shopping. BORING!!!!! She has her two senses in the way she dresses and feels and I have to admit she is damn good at it. =]

Rihanna mixes her clothing styles in different genres. She has her pretty dresses with black rocker shoes and black jewelry, and her jeans and t-shirts with her pointy-toed heels. She is in the know with fashion and it doesn’t hurt to have an unlimited amount of money to help her out with the fashion department. =]

Hello! I’m Kaleigh Miller and I attend Ball State University as a freshmen and I am majoring in pre-dental preparation. I’m going to strive to be a dentist and hopefully one day I will be successful. =] I love milk duds, puppies, kittens, popcorn, my family, and my friends. I’m going to be writing a blog all about fashion, trends, and style. I love fashion and I LOVE to shop. I like to piece different things together and make my style my own. I also like to look at what other people’s style are like and take some of their ides and incorporate it with my own and maybe add a new style that is different from any one elses.

Fashion on a budget=]

I love to shop, but sometimes my bank account runs a little thin. I tend to find great deals online, at Wal-Mart, and also at Target. There are always great deals out there; we sometimes just have to search.

I love to shop and online I can search quickly and efficiently for great deals on all the same things. I recently bought a pair of Ugg boots online for less than retail. If you search on Google, many searches will come up and you can choose which search you mostly like. In some cases Google will put many different searches all together so you can compare prices and styles. I find the Internet an effective way to find great deals. Just what I need when my bank account may be sparse. Lol. =]

At Wal-mart, there is a new line out for young ladies. It is the new Miley Cyrus/ Max Azria line. I have two pairs of jeans, a skirt, a blouse(pictured above) and some t-shirts already. It may not be Hollister, or American Eagle, but it is cute fashionable, affordable clothes that are sure to make a statement. They run as low as $6 for a shirt, $12 for a skirt, and $20 for a pair of skinny jeans. I love the pieces and the bargains!!!! =]

Target is one of my favorite stores to shop at for clothing, purses, jewelry, bathing suits and shoes. I have a pair of boots(pictured above) that I have already gotten many compliments while I’ve been at BSU. =] They have great sales that you can find shirts and shoes for $10 or less, and even when they aren’t on sale it is still a good buy. I love love love Target and it is probably one of my favorite stores.
