Dressed to The Hills

This Tuesday night MTV’s The Hills returned to MTV for a new season. To me this means new drama, beautiful girls, good-looking guys, and tons of tons of fashion. Lauren Conrad who is no longer on the show is the epitome of style, pose, and fashion. Since she won’t be there anymore we will have to rely on Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, and Audrina Partridge to take over the fashionista’s spot. With their unlimited bank accounts and pure beauty I don’t think this will be very hard to keep up.

On the Premier, Kristin was shown with white shorts and a baby pink silk blouse with a gold chain necklace, this outfit made me think of classic and sweat Kristin, little did I know her inner bitch was roaring to get out. She also was shown in ripped jeans with a leather motorcycle jacket, just enough edge to get the guy she wanted. Lo Bosworth was shown in a contemporary style of jeans and a classic oversized tan sweater and her oh so famous oversized sunglasses. Lo is the perfect example of all around style that can be worn anywhere. Audrina rounds up the fashion style with a strapless yellow tight fitting dress, and heels to die for.

Over all this show is all about the drama and what they wear. I love to watch to get new ideas and share some ideas with other people like you. =]

Returning Styles?

Remember those headbands worn straight around the head with long wavy hair? Or the floral printed shirts that you couldn’t stop seeing in the seventies. Well guess what? The Style is back. Girls pull out your mom’s old clothes and dig through. You are sure to find something that has come back into style!

My mom had leg warmers, headbands, bright leggings and floral scarves, jellies and anything I could imagine. I stormed through her old boxes and found myself wearing these vintage styles in 2009. I couldn’t believe that my mom had worn these when she was my age and they were back in style. The technology of today is still advancing, but our styles are going back in time. If you ask me I’m excited. I love the vintage style and anything that is different from everyone else. =]

Another returning style that would have to be my favorite would be the oversized sweater. I absolutely love the style and comfort ability of the sweater. Sweaters are cute and comfy and dress up any style. I found that at TJ Max I can find nice sweaters for an affordable price. American Eagle Sweaters run just $14.99 a sweater, with this price you can’t go wrong.

Robert Pattinson=]=]=]=]=]!!!

Robert Pattinson made People’s Best Dressed 2009 with his daring style and oh so different pieces. Maybe the fact that he is extra sulty (yummy looking) helped his rating go waaaaay up there!

His style ranges from tailored tuxes and shiny shoes to blazers and dingy beat up shoes. His style is one that keeps me interested and not only in his face or body. I’d have to say his favorite pieces to wear would be blazers and lots of them. Royal blue, red, navy blue, black blazers and do they look so delicious on him. He usually pairs it with a button up shirt or a tie, but sometimes he leaves the tie off and opens the buttons for a little chest showing. He knows what the ladies like and it looks oh so good. =]=]

I have a gut feeling that People only named him best dressed to sell more magazines since he is a heart throb to teens and more. He does dress nice when he has to but is his style the best off the red carpet or awards shows? I think he is a sexy hunk of a man and dresses nice, but he may not be the best dressed man in Hollywood. I know that I would buy the magazine if it had tons of pictures of him because he is a very big deal right now and extra sexy!

People Magazine's Best Dressed!

People Magazine recently put out their rendition of best-dressed celebrities. Among the list are Beyonce, Vanessa Hudgens and Kate Winslet.

Kate Winslet is best dressed for showing off her curves. She wears fitted gowns and blows away the competition on the red carpet. Michelle Obama makes the best-dressed list for most accessible glamour. She has an uncanny knack for wearing sleeveless dresses and ranges her style from wearing anything J. Crew to Gap and Michael Kors. Nichole Ritchie makes the list for best maternity style not even missing a beat when a baby is on the way is really impressive. She wears sparkly tunic and even pieces from her line " a pea in the pod", a maternity clothing line. Reese Witherspoon makes the list for best short dresses. Who wouldn't show off legs like that with a classic mini dress so chic and fashionable? Cameron Diaz makes the list with best jeans. She takes her jeans from classy to chic with dressy tops and sexy heels and pumps. Kim Kardashian who receives best bikinis has a knack for showing off her perfect body in sexy two pieces any girl would want to look like that in. Her curves are what make it the best bikini body out there. Taylor Swift is sure to make the list for best sparkle with her sparkling dresses fit for a princess and glittery earrings to make her dress stand out even more. Beyonce makes Best Street chic, you’ll never see her in sweatpants and her hair is always done and accessorizes her outfit even when she is dressing down. Vanessa Hudgens rounds up the best dressed with best boho style. She wears anything from floral rompers to tiered gold dresses with her long loose waves of hair.

Dead men don’t wear plaid! ; ]

I was walking through campus and I noticed something passing me by about every few minutes on both guys and girls. THE PLAID AND BUFFALO CHECKER! It is a style that has come through and we cannot deny it. It is super cute and very fashionable. You can dress it up with tons of jewelry and heels or dress it down with a band t-shirt under and some converse chucks. I think I own about 4 plaids/checkers. Even a skirt I have is buffalo checker. I tend to find them cheaper at TJ Maxx then at a Pac Sun. WAYYYYY CHEAPER! I also found for the girls a pair of checker flats online at forever21.com for $9.99!!!! =]=]=] Every girls dream. Shoes for cheap. I also think that pairing a checker with skinny jeans and a leather jacket with black-heeled booties would be really really cute. I kinda want to wear that now. Shopping trip with my credit card. NO I shouldn’t but I may. Lol.

WOAH KANYE! NOT NICE!

As we all know the VMA’s were on Sunday night and there was fashion everywhere. From Taylor Swifts elongated sparkly dress to Kanye’s Jeans and Button up black leather shirt and bottle of Henney. Speaking of Taylor Swift and Kanye, when Taylor won best female video, Kanye went on stage took the microphone away from her and basically said you shouldn’t of won. He said “ I’m really happy for you. I’ll let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best video’s of all time!” From then on when Kanye was even mentioned there was a crowd of mixed emotions with boo’s and cheers. I know this has nothing to do with fashion but I just had to put this on my blog. It was totally wrong and stupid for his career to do this to her. She may not really have the best songs and videos out there but she got what she deserved and no one should take that amazing feeling away from her.

Okay back to fashion, Lady Gage wore feathers, masque, a hat, a corset, and pink hair; her style to me is definitely different and not classy at all. Beyonce wore a red mini dress with a low cut v; needless to say she looked gorgeous and is the epitome of VMA style. Taylor’s dress was simply fir for a princess; she looked gorgeous with her red lips and sparkly earrings. =] Lauren Conrad of The Hills wore a short mini dress crème with black stripes that flattered her figure very nicely, her hair tasseled back into a beautiful pinned curly bun. Tyson Ritter of the All American Rejects wore a pink suit with black suspenders and black dress shoes. He looked very styled for a guy. That’s the fashion recap of this very eventful night.

GOOD GOLLY BOOTS!

We all have them or we all want them! BOOTS! Boots are literally a must have for the fall season and they are cute and very interchangeable!!!!!!!! Whether they are black, brown, grey, tan, red, short heeled, high heeled, or flat it is a fashion don’t if you do not have a pair of boots. They complete a simple outfit by just putting it over the top with cuteness. =]

A couple of ideas to what you could pare your boots with could be skinny jeans with a drapey top and drapey jacket and a thick scarf, or tights with leg warmers, a chiffon dress and a cropped motorcycle jacket. Any of these looks would make people take a second look at you. I have a pair of grey boots that I purchased at Charlotte Russe for thirty dollars, but what is awesome was they had a sale going and still do that if you buy a pair of shoes and get another pair the second pair will be only ten dollars!!!! Awesome right???? =] Not only to mention that these boots will still be in style next fall season. Boots are timeless and classic.

So do yourself and me a favor go out and get some boots for the fall season and the fall seasons to come. Trust me you will be so happy with your purchase.

P.s. what you see pictured is a pair of brown BC boots. I thought they were adorable with the buttons and all the detail.

Fashionista. =]

We all read the U.S. magazines but my favorite is the U.S. Fashion issue. I’ve come to notice that in the Fashion magazines there always seems to be one person in there over and over again. RIHANNA! She is stunning, gorgeous, talented, and most important stylish. =]

A few simple keys on how she keeps her fashion exciting, different, and keeping everyone wanting to know her secrets. First, she is not afraid to be daring and to do things that are different. She doesn’t care what other people think of her and that’s what matters the most. Second, she is herself and she is no one else. She strives to be her own person unlike trying to be someone else, to me that is the most important thing to do. To feel what you want to feel and to do and want to do is the best because it boosts your self-esteem and makes everyone else look like they’re in the shadow. Third, she has an unbelievable stylist. Lol. =] Ha-ha, I’m just kidding. She may have a great stylist but it doesn’t mean she sits on the couch while they go shopping. BORING!!!!! She has her two senses in the way she dresses and feels and I have to admit she is damn good at it. =]

Rihanna mixes her clothing styles in different genres. She has her pretty dresses with black rocker shoes and black jewelry, and her jeans and t-shirts with her pointy-toed heels. She is in the know with fashion and it doesn’t hurt to have an unlimited amount of money to help her out with the fashion department. =]

Hello! I’m Kaleigh Miller and I attend Ball State University as a freshmen and I am majoring in pre-dental preparation.
